Nadaswaram during Sri Kapali temple daily processions

Temple processions go for long hours and the nadaswara vidwans lead the deity along the streets around the temple. This has been the practice since the beginning of the temple processions.
The hour-long alapanas by the vidwans used to draw people from the neighbourhoods. The recitals used to go into the night and mostly the concerts ended only in early mornings. 

This practice is being revived in many temples today.
Sri Kapaleeswarar temple in Mylapore has listed all the Nadaswaram concerts in its invitation of the annual Panguni Festival.
