The 49th annual Music Conference and Concerts of The Bangalore Gayana Samaja from Oct. 21 to 28, 2018.
The prestigious award Sangeetha Kalarathna will be presented to vidushi T.S. Sathyavathi. Gayana Samaja presents the Shree Kala Jyothi awards to vidwans B.K. Anantharam (Flute), M.R. Sainath (Mrudangam), J.K. Sridhar (Violin), Mathur T. Gopal (Vocal and vidushi R. Chandrika (Vocal).
This year's music conference is dedicated to vidushi D.K. Pattammal whose centenary is celebrated this year and royal composer Jayachamarajendra Wodeyar.
The awards will be presented on Oct. 28, 2018 at 10.30 at the Vidwath Sadas. The special guests of the occasion are Sri Sri Yadugiri Yathiraja Narayana Ramanuja Jeeyar of Yadugiri Yathiraja Mutt, Melukote, Dr. K. Radhakrishnan, former Chairman, ISRO, Justice N. Kumar, Former Judge, High Court of Karnataka.
The conference will be inaugurated by H.H. Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wodeyar, Maharaja of Mysore, Dr. Uday B. Garudachar, MLA, Chickpet Constituency and Dr. M.R.V. Prasad, President, Bangalore Gayana Samaja.
